Delete your Audissey account
This is an English translation. If there is any discrepancy, the Portuguese version prevails.
This page explains how to delete your account in the Audissey app, developed by Tiago Costa, and what happens to your data.
You can delete your account directly in the app, under Profile → «Eliminar conta» (Delete account). If your version of the app does not have this option yet, or if you can no longer sign in to your account, make your request by email: we handle it within 30 days at the latest, usually much sooner.
Delete your account in the app
- Open the Audissey app and sign in to the account you want to delete.
- Open Profile and tap «Eliminar conta» (Delete account).
- Confirm that you want to delete your account.
- Your account is deactivated immediately and all sessions are signed out. The app signs you out and deletes from your device your session data, local history, preferences and search history. Downloaded episodes stay on your device until you remove them or uninstall the app.
- Our servers then permanently delete all data linked to the account (see What happens next).
Request deletion by email
If your version of the app does not have this option yet, or if you can no longer sign in to your account, you can request deletion by email:
- Open your email and use the same email address as your Audissey account.
- Send a message to alerts@audissey.io with the subject “Delete account”. If you like, also include your account name.
- If needed, we will ask you for more information to confirm the account is yours.
- Once we have confirmed the request, we deactivate the account, sign out all sessions and delete your data.
- We reply by email to confirm your request has been handled.
If you cannot send from your account email
This can happen, for example, if you created your account with “Sign in with Apple” and chose to hide your email, if you used Google or Facebook with a different address, or if you no longer have access to that email. In that case, write to us anyway from another address. To protect your account, we may ask you for proof that you are the account holder — for example, the sign-in method you used and the name linked to the account.
What happens next
- Your account is deactivated and all sessions are signed out immediately if you delete it in the app, or as soon as we confirm a request made by email.
-
All data linked to the account is permanently deleted:
- profile and account data;
- favourites and collections;
- listening history;
- programmings and scheduled listening, including share links;
- usage events, content you skipped and recommendation request logs;
- recommendation profiles;
- feedback;
- session data and pending sign-in links.
- Our recommendation model and the data derived from it are deleted and rebuilt without your data.
- Audit logs that referred to you are anonymised.
- Your data may remain in encrypted database backups until they expire under the backup rotation — up to 12 months. These backups are used only to restore the service after a disaster and are not accessed for any other purpose.
- Timeframe: if you delete your account in the app, data deletion starts automatically as soon as you confirm; requests made by email are handled within 30 days at the latest, usually sooner.
What is not deleted
- Until they expire, encrypted database backups (up to 12 months, only for disaster recovery) and technical logs (30 days) may still contain your data. After that, nothing linked to you remains stored, apart from the email exchange about your request, which we keep for as long as needed to show that we handled it.
- The public catalogue of radio stations, podcasts, episodes and programmes is not affected, because it is not your data.
- Data that Google, Apple or Meta hold about you in their own accounts is not affected. If you used one of these services to sign in, you can also remove Audissey from the connected apps in that account's settings.
- If you delete your account in the app, downloaded episodes stay on your device until you remove them or uninstall the app. Session data, local history, preferences and search history are deleted from your device, as explained above.
- If you make your request by email, data stored on your device is not deleted by the request: signing out deletes session data and local history, and uninstalling the app removes most local data. Depending on the operating system, some items may persist after uninstalling — for example, session data kept in the system keychain.
Delete only some data
If you do not want to delete your account, you can delete part of your data:
- Favourites and collections: remove them directly in the app.
- Saved programmings: delete them directly in the app.
- Local history: in “Ouvidos recentemente” (Recently played), use “Limpar histórico” (Clear history). This deletes the history stored on your device, but not the history stored on our servers.
- Data on your device: signing out deletes session data and local history; uninstalling the app removes most local data, including downloaded episodes (some data may persist depending on the operating system, as explained above).
- Listening history on our servers, or any other data: email alerts@audissey.io from your account email, saying what you want deleted.
Uninstalling the app does not delete your account
If you uninstall Audissey, your account and the data on our servers still exist. To delete them, delete your account in the app before uninstalling it, or make a request by email, as explained above.
